Where Are You?

I wrote this poem about depression today.  I have talked to many people lately suffering and these words flooded my mind so I had to stop and write them down.  Though my poems are not of prize winning quality, they are a way for me to put my thoughts into words and in turn, they are therapeutic for me.  If you can relate or know someone who is depressed, I encourage you to seek help.

“Where Did You Go?”

Where did you go, love?

I’ve been looking for you.

The words you said to me

Gave an alarming clue

Carefree, smiling and joking

Is how you used to be

Your smile lit the room

That smile I long to see

Your happy has disappeared

No matter what I say

The person that I know

Has slowly slipped away

Though you are here

Sitting by my side

I cannot find you

Life has left your eyes

Where did you go, love?

Is there anything I can do?

I pray God will wrap

His loving arms around you
